|What are the shipping charges?|
We ship through our local United States Post Office. We attempt to ship within 24 hours of receiving any order, but we can’t ship on Sundays or any US federal holidays. We never charge for handling, and only charge what the USPS charges us for shipping.
When shipping fabrics or fabrics with other merchandise to all US addresses, we place all fabrics in a resealable (and reusable) plastic bag(s). Depending upon the products being shipped, we will then determine whether to use padded/bubble-style envelopes, poster board envelopes, or cardboard boxes.We want all merchandise to reach you quickly and safely! Rates are as follow:

What if I live outside of the US? Do you ship internationally!
Costs for shipping fabrics to non-US addresses is by the total yardage purchased:
1-10.75 yards: $24.95
11-30 yards: $47.75
30.25-40 yards: $62.35
Please contact us directly regarding shipping books, patterns, and other merchandise (non-fabric items) outside the US. Some items, such as rulers, may be considered fragile and require special packaging, while books and patterns we may be able to ship via media rate or ground rate for less.
|How do you ship my order?|
|We ship through our local United States Post Service office (USPS). Depending upon the quantity and types of products, we may elect to use padded envelopes, poster board envelopes, or cardboard shipping boxes. Some items, such as rulers, may be bubble-wrapped as well as placed within cardboard to prevent damage and/or breakage during shipping.|
We ask that all shipping materials be either recycled or reused. Thank you!
|Will I be able to track my shipment?|
Shipments are typically sent via Priority Mail. US Priority mail has tracking numbers which we will gladly provide to our customers. If necessary, shipments may be sent in more than a single box or package, but all tracking numbers, when available, will be provided.
If your order qualifies for free shipping, it will be sent via USPS Ground Mail. Tracking numbers may not be available, and shipping may take longer than Priority Mail.
|When will I receive my shipment?|
We ship Monday through Saturday, and orders are typically shipped within 24 hours of order placement or the next business day. Since we usually ship via USPS, we can’t post anything on Sundays or any US federal holidays. Typically, Priority Mail arrives between three and five days after shipment within the United States, although there may be delays during extremely busy shipping periods, such as the holiday season from November through January.
|What if my shipment arrives damaged? Or does not arrive at all?|
Sorry, but while we package all shipments carefully, we are not responsible for lost shipments or damaged merchandise. If mail delivery in your area is problematic, we can arrange for additional services, such as a signature being required upon delivery, but there will be an additional fee for this service; as with additional insurance, we will only charge our customers the actual USPS fee for such services.

|Will my shipment be insured?|
Priority Mail, via USPS, automatically insures all packages up to $50. While we have good luck with shipments, if you have concerns and would like to purchase additional insurance, email us at the time of your order (email@example.com). There will be an additional charge for insurance, but we will only charge our customers the USPS rates, which are based upon overall value of a shipment, for additional insurance. If additional insurance is not requested and paid for, we will not add additional insurance. We do provide tracking numbers from the USPS, which may not be available for shipments outside the US, to assist customers in keeping an eye on their shipments.
|How small of a piece of fabric will you cut for me?|
We’re a small business that caters to our favorite people—quilters! Since many patterns call for specific yardage, we will cut to the quarter yard. The smallest unit we will cut is a quarter yard.
If you order a kit from us, we will cut the fabric to the yardage required on the pattern. If a pattern calls for an eighth of a yard, then we will cut to this size.
|Will you cut a fat quarter for me?|
We don’t cut and ship fat quarters, except for those assembled into precut bundles.
|May I return any or part of my purchase?|
Regrettably, we do not accept returns and consider all sales final. This applies to fabric, patterns, books, and notions.
While we endeavor to make certain all shipments are complete and accurate, if we make a mistake, then we will do whatever we can to make it right. We will ship the correct merchandise to you, and we’ll pay the return postage for any item that was sent in error, if necessary. We want all quilters to be happy quilters!
|What if I think a fabric looked different online?|
We attempt to have high quality photographs of all products on our website; however, due to the vagaries of computer monitors and color reproduction, we can’t be responsible for how accurately a color appears on any device.
|I live in Canada, or Australia, or New Zealand; do I have any special concerns before I order?|
We are always excited to encounter quilters from around the world! We are happy to ship fabric and other merchandise to other countries. We will typically use USPS International Priority Mail; shipments to other nations do take a bit longer to arrive—up to two weeks, usually. Any customs, taxes, duties, or tariffs are the customer’s responsibility, and we are forthright about the value of the contents of anything shipped anywhere.
|Do you sell fabric by the meter?|
Keep in mind that here in the United States, we measure fabric by the yard (a yard is 36 inches, which equals 0.9144 meters or 91.44 centimeters). Please purchase the appropriate amount of fabric. There are conversion tables available online.
|What if I live somewhere you do not list as a shipping location?|
Email us, and we’ll check into shipping costs to your home. Typically, we can use USPS International Priority service and send your merchandise as quickly as possible. If we haven’t shipped to your homeland before, however, we may have to do our homework regarding shipping times, weight restrictions, and other details, but we will do all we can to facilitate the delivery of your order.
|Can you get more of a fabric?|
If you need any more of a fabric that is “sold out” online, we will check our inventory and shop for any that may be left, but if we are out, then it isn’t likely we’ll be able to purchase any more. Fabric manufacturers produce several designer lines and collections each year in limited quantity. They know how much we love having new, beautiful designs and colors, and they very rarely reprint fabrics from these collections! The manufacturers produce a limited amount of yardage, which is bolted and sold to retailers; when it is gone, it’s gone. Some manufacturers have extensive “basics” collections that are reproduced from year to year, but even within these steadfast stalwarts, certain colors—or even entire lines—may be discontinued.
|Are you a real shop or do you only exist online?|
Yes, we are a real, but tiny, quilt shop, and we’ve been in the quilting business since 2002. Check our website for the shop’s address, a map, and our hours of operation. We’re located in the northernmost part of Michigan’s lower peninsula, only six miles south of the famous Mackinac Bridge, and near wonderful vacation and resort areas. This also means that in winter, we frequently have bad weather and roads that are snowy and slippery; check with us before visiting in the winter months for a local road report.
|What kind of fabric do you sell?|
We only sell first quality, 100% cotton quilting fabrics from the best manufacturers. Our fabrics are usually 42” to 44” inches in width.
|Why do you not sell a certain fabric or a line of fabrics?|
First and foremost, we sell fabric we like! There are many, many manufacturers and designers out there, and we have elected to be selective and this means we don’t always sell what everyone else is selling.
